Tippa Irie is one of the most influential musicians in the history of reggae and dancehall. Emerging in the UK in the 1980s as a leading MC on the legendary Saxon Sound system, he became widely recognised for his rapid-fire delivery, sharp lyrics, and unmistakable voice, helping to define fast-chatting as a cornerstone of UK sound system culture.
💥In 2005, Tippa was nominated for a GRAMMY®️ for Best Rap Song for a tune he wrote with Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas called 'Hey Mama.'
💥In 2023 following the release of his much-anticipated 18th career album 'I'm An African', Tippa released his autobiography titled 'Stick To My Roots', named after his 2010 hit single of the same name.
